Santo Domingo is a charming village in the province of Heredia, in the northern region of Costa Rica. It stands out due to the peace that reigns there. It is an ideal destination if you want to stay away from the bustling San José, which is not far away from Santo Domingo.

This beautiful colonial little village surrounded by lush nature is located in the Central Valley of Costa Rica. Lots of beautiful colonial houses with Spanish architecture, which are quite typical in the area, can be found while walking down its streets. The city’s most famous building is the precious Santo Domingo de Guzman Basilica, a spotless-white giant church that guards the city with its two towers topped with two golden and bright domes.

Santo Domingo de Heredia is also an exceptional place to go thanks in part to the places that surround it, above all the national parks and the nearby beaches. There are lots of hotels, bars and restaurants where you will have the opportunity to try the delicious Costa Rican cuisine while having a great time.
