Liberia is now a model for all the locals in Guanacaste not only because it is the epicenter of the country, but also because it preserves its colonial characteristics that give to the city a special charm. One example of this singularity is Capilla de la Agonia Chapel, run by the Senor de la Agonia Religious Art Museum.

Liberia is located in a privileged position; near it there are certain important natural areas such as Santa Rosa National Park and Rincon de la Vieja National Park, among others. Although its natural parks are very important, some of the best beaches to practice surf and snorkeling like Playa Tamarindo BeachPlaya Grande Beach or Playa Hermosa Beach, can be found in the city’s surroundings.

Liberia is one of the most important cities in Costa Rica due to its good means of transports and its modern airport, chosen by the majority of the visitors of Guanacaste. Moreover, it has every tourist facility: restaurants, hotels and shops, where you can taste the best Costa Rican food, stay in great accommodations, or spend your day shopping.

After reading a bit about Liberia, it is not hard to understand why it is now one of the most popular tourist destinations of Guanacaste, as well as a great place to spend an unforgettable, wonderful time.
