Costa Rica is one of the favourite spots for rafting lovers because of the rough waters coming from its tropical and hot water rivers.

Thus, one of the best rivers for practicing rafting is the Pacuare river, considered as the most beautiful of Costa Rica. It has large waterfalls, cascades, paths and a wide diversity of fauna and flora. Its difficulty level is medium-high, thus it is recommended only for experts.

If you are a beginner, the Pejibaye river is the most convenient option for you due to its safer waters, which makes it suitable for anyone fond of rafting. These rapids combine adrenaline with beautiful landscapes and crystal clear waters. The river starts at the foot of the Talamanca mountain chain, and it is named after the villages that surround them, which are Tucurrique and Pejibaye.

Furthermore, Colorado river flows through an impressive natural canyon placed in the middle of a tropical dry forest. This river has also several natural pools. Moreover, the difficulty level of this river is low, so everyone can enjoy rafting there.

Likewise, another ideal place to practice this sport is the area of Puerto Viejo de Sarapiquí and, in particular, La Virgen, which is a village entirely dedicated to extreme sports in its marvelous river: the Sarapiquí river. The rapids of this river attract a large amount of rafting and kayaking lovers.
