The Térraba-Sierpe National Wetland has become one of the most characteristic landscapes in Costa Rica, since along its 9,000 ha you can find one of the largest mangroves in the world. This vast mangrove turns the Térraba-Sierpe National Wetland into the biggest wetland in the world. There, you can find a great variety of vegetal species, such as the saber and the Rhizophoraceae, among many others.

Thanks to the constant migration of birds and wild animals which approach the waters of the wetland to get hydrated, the Térraba-Sierpe National Wetland is a natural phenomenon which scientists and biologists like observe with for their studies.
