The Costa Rican National Museum has many exhibitions, like the visual arts ones, the temporary collections, and the permanent exhibitions. The museum houses permanent exhibitions in different rooms such as the Indigenous Gold, the Colonial House, the Pre-Columbian, the South Osa Palmar, and the Puntarenas showrooms.

Since 1950, the museum stands between the Second Avenue and the Central Avenue at Democracia Plaza in the former Bellavista barrack, which is an attraction in itself with warm tones.

Besides, The Costa Rican National Museum has a number of services: workshops, talks, researches and the library, which is opened to the public.
