The Edificio Metálico (Metal Building) is also known as “Buenaventura Corrales Bermúdez Building”. It was fully built of metallic pieces that were forged in Belgium in 1892 and later, they were assembled in San José until it was completed in 1894. The building is of a neoclassical style and was a work by the French architect Charles Thirio.

This striking building is located between two of the most famous parks of San José, Morazán Park and Spain Park while opposite to The Jade Museum.

Nowadays, it is a primary school that is called Buenaventura Corrales and Julia Lang School.
