These ruins, located in front of the Plaza Mayor square, offer a pleasant stop during your tour along the Avenida Central avenue. Cartago Ruins, placed right in the historic center, are the remnants of the construction of the Iglesia Santiago Apóstol Church, whose process was interrupted because of the Santa Mónica earthquake, which struck on March 4, 1910.

Furthermore, in these ruins you will be able to go for a walk among the beautiful and incredible tropical garden growing in its interior, where a fascinating contrast can be felt thanks to the combination of the intense green of its plants and the grey of its stones.
