Bahía Drake is a beautiful district in Osa Canton, in Puntarenas province. This region takes its name from the famous English corsair Sir Francis Drake, who is supposed to have landed in this part of the Costa Rican coast.

Bahía Drake is characterized by having pleasing beaches of calm waters and being an ideal destination for nautical tourism, sailing and recreational fishing.

Conversely, this district stands out for being one of the most important starting points towards the Cano Island Biological Reserve, which is located in front of its coast, approximately 20 km away from it. Here, you can take diverse trips by boat and observe sea turtles, whales, dolphins, etc. Moreover, you cannot forget that, from the small village of Agujitas, you can access the astonishing Corcovado National Park, one of the most important parks in Costa Rica, an unavoidable visit during your travel. Inside the park you can even lodge in hotels located in the middle of the jungle and delight in the purest nature.

Lastly, Bahía Drake also offers the possibility of enjoying its lively atmosphere. In this city, you can spend amusing nights in some of its bars and taste the best Costa Rican traditional meal in its wonderful restaurants. Likewise, it has a small airport which operates national flights.
